Brief lessons overview.
Personality:
- At first blush, Lucifer comes off as extremely reserved and under control. It's best to say that he has a regal manner in which he talks; the kind of mannerisms and tics that makes people listen to him. They recognize his authority without being aware of it, and tend to take notice to his words even if they come off arrogant. A person generally gets the impression that he isn't someone to mess with easily. While as an angel, he spoke very bluntly and rude; he was very honest. This is shown when he lost his memories and how he honestly spoke to everyone. As he is, he tends to keep a lot of his feelings and thoughts close to his chest. Like a lot of the time, the madder he gets, the more quiet that he becomes. He is measured in what he decides to say – and only sometimes does he start to go on long rants.
- And yeah, as the Avatar of Pride, he is extremely prideful. He doesn't like having other people assist him; he doesn't like asking anyone for help. He carries everything himself, because he does not know how to reach out to anyone to assist him. Granted, by Lesson 40, he has gotten significantly better about it. Which is to say that if people ask to help him, he's more willing to relent than snap at them for thinking he could possibly need it.
- He's extremely clever and generally multiple steps ahead of most people. But there are people that are able to both outwit and trip him up. He's not infallible, but just attempts to give off the air that he is. Still, that doesn't mean that he doesn't like to have fun. Like, the demon does use stickers to convey his feelings; he joins in occasionally on teasing Mammon. Anyway, he does get invested in silly things sometimes, rambles about them, before deciding to put them into action (re: wanting to start a rock band).
- So, he is also extremely kuudere. Like his brothers are aware that he loves them, but he also shows that same cold, composed self to them. He can be terse with them; he often loses his temper with their shenanigans; his idea of punishment is stringing them up to hang from the ceiling for a few days. It left a gap between him and his brothers for a long time, that has settled considerably in the present.
- He honestly loves and cares about his family so much. Like, the demon went to war with God because God wanted to obliterate his little sister for loving a human. In the beginning, he did not trust the protagonist at all; he specifically told them to stay away from his brothers. He nearly kills Luke because Luke gets hold a grimoire that has the power to subjugate demons. Luke is a tiny angel that Lucifer generally has okay feelings towards but he was going to rend him limb from limb. The demon goes from 0-100 very fast when he feels that his family is being threatened in any way.
- He also hates the idea of them suffering in any way. Like he bore the guilt of knowing what truly happened to their little sister for centuries by himself; he dealt with Belphegor's hatred for him as he tried to save the demon from himself. He used his own lifespan to extend Beezlebub's without a second of hesitation. Going back to what is previously said, he would do anything for them, and do some dubious nonsense in order to ensure that they never feel any real pain.
- Will say that it isn't always dubious actions. It's been made canon that the one who paints Lucifer's fingernails is Asmo; that isn't something that he would normally do, but it's something that his younger brother wants so he allows it. He also tends to be the one that they come to fix most problems, but he does have a limit of how much he'll take before he loses his temper.
- The only person that has gotten away with threatening his brothers is Diavolo. He is the only person that Lucifer has actually bowed his head down to and asked for mercy. Which is a lot given how prideful a person that he is. The relationship that he has with Diavolo started out rather fraught. As an angel, Lucifer was dismissive of him. Due to saving Lilith's life, Lucifer pledged absolute loyalty to him. He's forgiving of anything that Diavolo does and goes along with pretty much any shenanigans the demon lord comes up with, and drags his brothers along if they are requested. Even in another realm, he would still do his uttermost not to tarnish Diavolo's name.
- Of all his brothers, Mammon is the one that Lucifer most trusts. This may surprise everyone given how much Lucifer scolds and punishes his younger brother, but he honestly finds him extremely reliable. Mammon is the one who honestly talks to him after they fell to Devildom; he spoke to him about how he was controlling and smothering everyone. It was enough to settle his emotions that he let up; so yes, of his brothers, Mammon is the one that Lucifer would listen to if it comes down to it. Anyone else could try to talk to him whilst he is in "a state," and he could dismiss their words.
- Though, that isn't to say that he doesn't have a soft spot for Satan. As it was said, when Satan was created, Lucifer was the one that was most at his side. It is relatively easy to distract Lucifer by bringing up Satan in some way, since he feels more responsible for him than the others. Yet he doesn't really think of Satan as "his son," but "his brother." Someone that was with him through everything that happened in the Celestial Realm. He considers Satan to be separate from him, and different in every way; it would put him at ease to know that he's well and happy. Of course, his attempts to connect with him tends to have varying degrees of success (usually all bad).
- So, while he comes off "practically perfect," he actually is quite clumsy in his real feelings.
Abilities & Inventory:
It is very awkward to write, but he is pretty much "perfect" at everything. He can play a variety of instruments and can learn pretty much anything on the fly having just witnessed it being done a couple of times. Of course, the reason for why he is so good at everything is that he's kind of neurotic and forces himself to pick up everything that he can (for the sake of both his family and Diavolo). With thousands of years of life, he is quite literally a jack-of-all-trades.
His magic and capabilities are all S-Ranked, if there was a way to rank them. Though, Mammon is much faster than him and knows how to keep away from him if need be (and sometimes a need there be!). For the sake of nerfing him, obviously, anything that would destroy the world is no longer something that he can access.
But poisoning doesn't work on him (re: his favorite snack is poisoned apples and teas). Curses don't work on him (even high-leveled ones). Mind altering potions rarely work on him. He can break through most seals and barriers. The list goes on and on, but he is Lucifer... still, for the sake of fun, he will be more susceptible to these things. (I mean, the demon can get very drunk and suffer hangovers; so he isn't completely immune to all things).
Like his brothers, he also has a demon form. It is something that he rarely shifts into unless his emotions are seriously put to the test (or, I guess, there is a fancy party). Outside of proper affairs, if he is in his demon form, he is absolutely livid about something and is getting to the point of being inconsolable. Like, the only person that was able to stop him when he was about to go on a rampage was Diavolo who is the most powerful demon in Devildom. But again, for nerfing sake, it is severely powered down.
As far as inventory goes; his RAD uniform and DDD is what he will be bringing along with him.
Suitability & Plans: Lucifer is fairly used to strange things happening due to living in Devildom. He did just recently deal with natural disasters that threatened all three realms, and losing all of his memories during the process. Most of the things that happens; he deals with relative ease. There is a lot of exasperation on his part, but he buckles down and attempts to carry on through it.
As far as plans go, he has started to soften up to the idea of allowing other people to help him, and giving his brothers the independence that he feels that they deserve. He's attempting to deal with a lot of his poor coping mechanisms when he starts to feel out-of-control, and curious how far that will actually go. Can he actually learn to care about people? Most of the people that he comes to care for are those that have done something for his family or for Diavolo. There's rarely a time that he comes to care about a person because they like him specifically -- and this may have something to do with being God's favorite.
He's a difficult person and tends to push/pull others to change more than change himself. So, it'll also be interesting to see how he'll affect other people. Will he be a terrible influence to them like the demon he is? Or actually change them for the better? Who's to say! I'd like to see it.
